Selecting the Three Arsenal Picks to Select v Wolverhampton? FPL Squad of the Gameweek

One big decision in the Fantasy Premier League lineup of the week involves go with zero Manchester City assets - and yes, that includes Erling Haaland!

The budget are essential to go all-in on Arsenal assets as they face at home among the most struggling teams in English top-flight recent memory.

It's true, Manchester City smashed in 5 times on their most recent away trip, but this time they face Crystal Palace, who have the second-strongest defence in the division for goals allowed and fourth-best in terms of expected goals conceded.

And the Gunners home to Wolves is the sort of encounter you must attack - the best side in the division against one lacking of momentum, technical ability and self-belief.

This team of the week is selected using current valuations to fit within a £100m budget, as if you were using a Free Hit chip.

How did The Previous Lineup Fare?

The captain didn't deliver but strong scores from Fernandes (18), Ruben Dias (14), Foden (12) and James Tarkowski (9), along with a fortunate 16-point Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall bench appearance led to a monster eighty-three points total. Success!

Fantasy Premier League Team of the Gameweek for Gameweek 16

Keeper and Defence

Roefs, Sunderland, goalkeeper, £4.7m - Newcastle (h)

The first derby in the Premier League since 2016 is likely to be noisy, passionate, feisty - and it could be one of those matches that is all drama but minimal clear chances.

Which would render Roefs, ranked third in the goalkeeper scoring charts, a decent pick.

Ben White, Arsenal, £5.2m - Wolves (h)

An Arsenal defensive asset is a must this week. Wolverhampton have one goal scored on the road this season and a single goal in their past six fixtures.

White is a great offensive threat when he is given his opportunity. Having started the past two games at right-back, had a 14-point return against Brentford and leads the charts in that period among Gunners defensive players with 2 big chances created, 2 shots in the box and an expected goal involvement of 0.7.

Marc Cucurella, Chelsea, £6.2m - Everton (h)

The Toffees are erratic so this selection is more about the Blues'defensive solidity and the Spaniard's upside.

The London club have the fourth-best defence while he has created more opportunities (19) than any defender in the division.

And he hasn't scored this season, having netted five goals the previous campaign.

Dalot, United, £4.4m - the Cherries (home)

You can't have great hopes for a United clean sheet - they have one all season - but the Cherries'goals have dried up in the last two games.

Crucially, Dalot has been occupying some incredibly attacking positions as a wing-back in the past three fixtures.

During that spell he's taken 4 shots, 2 clear opportunities, one goal and one assist. He also missed a cracking opportunity at Wolves on Monday as well.

Midfield

Saka (C), the Gunners, £10.2m - Wolverhampton (h)

This game against Wolves is too good to ignore and that makes Bukayo Saka, the Gunners'top attacking player a must-have.

No stats needed to support this pick. Manchester United had 27 shots at Wolverhampton on Monday night, netted four and might have had twice as many.

The Gunners will be licking their lips.

Declan Rice, the Gunners, £7.1m - Wolves (h)

Just a single point behind Bruno Fernandes in the FPL midfielder standings, Declan Rice is incredibly consistent for Arsenal.

More advanced this season, he's generated more opportunities than any Gunners player (twenty-seven) and has five assists to his name.

He's also the surest bet for game time as the manager could see this as a chance to rest his players.

Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United, £9m - the Cherries (h)

Fernandes may have taken over from Semenyo as the essential FPL midfield asset.

Match-up proof, always a candidate for defensive contribution points and with several routes to FPL returns.

Cole Palmer, Chelsea, £10.3m - the Toffees (home)

This gameweek's differential pick, Palmer has his first ninety minutes since returning after a lengthy layoff and we know what an high-scoring fantasy player he can be.

You get the feeling that, as soon as he has a single strong performance, FPL managers will be flocking to bring him in.

He missed the Blues'Champions League loss at the Italian side, but that was the team easing him back carefully so he should be well-rested for the Toffees.

Dango Ouattara, Brentford, £6m - Leeds United (home)

Leeds come into this match off the back of two strong home performances against the Blues and Liverpool, but on the road they have let in three goals for each one they've netted.

This is probably the winger's final fixture before departing for the AFCON.

He has been superb for Brentford this term, and has five goal contributions in his last three home matches.

Attack

Thiago, Brentford, £6.9m - Leeds (h)

It has been a disappointing couple of gameweeks for the striker owners, with only three points in two games.

However, he's the second top scorer in the league and has seven strikes in 7 fixtures at home. He's the prime forward option for this round and, with a kind fixture list, you can set and forget up until the end of January at least.

Hugo Ekitike, Liverpool, £8.4m - Brighton & Hove Albion (h)

Surely the manager keeps faith with the young Frenchman, after his two-goal performance at Leeds.

He was well at the start of the season and you wonder what he would have done had Alexander Isak not arrived and competed with him for playing time at centre-forward.

The Bench
