Manchester United v Brighton & Hove Albion – Premier League Updates

Preamble

Man Utd, having just beaten Liverpool and Sunderland, look to make it three Premier League wins on the bounce this evening. They have momentum managed by Ruben Amorim now more than ever!

Yet, Brighton are the Seagulls, having triumphed on each of their last three trips at Manchester United’s home, and six of the last seven League meetings head-to-head.

Forget the momentum; for the Seagulls it’s been a breeze. Having said all that, the visitors are also as gloriously unpredictable like United, therefore the fixture appears competing and maybe rollickingly good entertainment.

The match begins at 5.30 in the evening and we say this for the last time in a while as the clocks go back this evening, kids. It’s on!

The Teams

United: Lammens in goal, Yoro, de Ligt, Shaw at the back, Diallo included, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dalot on the flank, Mbeumo attacking, Cunha up front, Sesko.

Brighton & Hove Albion: Verbruggen between the posts, Wieffer in defense, van Hecke, Dunk, Kadioglu, Baleba, Ayari, Minteh, Rutter, De Cuyper, Welbeck.

Selection Changes

Manchester United make two adjustments following their 2-1 win against Liverpool. Šeško is selected replacing Mount, who drops to the bench, plus the decisive scorer Maguire misses out entirely, Yoro replaces him in defense.

He sustained a knock this week in practice. Malacia returns in a Premier League squad for the first time this season.

Brighton & Hove Albion make one change after their 2-1 home win against the Magpies. It’s ostensibly a defensive one, bringing in Maxim De Cuyper for Diego Gómez, now among the subs.

Danny Welbeck, ex-United player to win the Premier League back in 2013, returns to Old Trafford on a hot streak scoring four in three, one more than he’d managed over his last 15 matches.

Build-Up

The manager pays little heed about the views of Liverpool’s boss … yet Welbeck is mindful with the thought processes of Thomas Tuchel.

It is widely discussed this encounter could have implications their campaigns in the top flight unfolds.

Key players to watch are the captain for United and the Brighton forward from the away side, both on song recently.
