Jurgen Klopp says a return to manage Liverpool is theoretically possible.

Jurgen Klopp, who left Liverpool in 2024, remarked that a future comeback remains something that could happen. The 58-year-old, post a game-changing nine-year spell featuring Champions League success and the Premier League crown in 30 years, now holds positions in a global football capacity within the Red Bull organization and in an advisory capacity to Germany's league body.

Fan Sentiment and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

Liverpool won England's top flight in the previous campaign, yet numerous supporters who revere Klopp would be thrilled by the idea that he may eventually return. Speaking candidly, he shared with Steven Bartlett: “I stated I refuse to lead another team within the country. So that means if then it’s Liverpool...yeah. It's plausible.”

“Being 58, so I might decide in a few years, who knows. Do I have to make the decision today? If so, I wouldn't return. Fortunately, it's not necessary. I'll wait and observe what the future brings.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

When asked about which situations would need to occur to tempt his return to management, he confessed he was not instantly drawn for a comeback. “It's unclear to me, I enjoy my current role,” he stated. “No longing for management; No desire to be during downpours for lengthy sessions; No need for interviews repeatedly each week or constant media duties each week.

“No nostalgia for the changing area per se, however, dining out alongside the squad enjoying conversation, that’s nice. We won a lot of games so there was often a very good mood in the building. I can still hear Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh in my ear to illustrate.”

Praise for His Successor

Klopp was full of praise for his successor, crediting him due to the changes which secured the championship last term. The team has suffered four consecutive matches in every contest following significant transfers, though he denied the suggestion it could be a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward such as Wirtz, doubters will be silenced if spoken against. An outstanding player. Ekitike, superb talent. They have a strong well-judged squad. You don’t have to worry regarding the Reds, they will be fine.”

Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward

The manager expressed deep feeling about the death of the Portuguese star, whom he brought in while in charge, and the effect for the team. Jota died tragically in a car crash alongside his brother this past summer.

“Who can fill the void of such an individual? This isn't just regarding the player himself, it’s the guy he was. I can’t imagine the squad without him in it. Putting it into words is tough on this topic. A devastating blow for all the boys as well. Nobody at Liverpool might employ it to justify results though it's a fact. Entering the changing area where his spirit remains. Handling this emotionally is challenging. Unbearable.”
