Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is uncertain and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their air space.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on areas associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

Additional Developments

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted missile fragments fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
