Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slam events this year.

Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in her final two events this season due to the illness that has affected her in recent days.

At 22 years old was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but chose to travel back to recover prior to beginning next year's training.

These plans are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.

The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match against Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She again required a visit from the doctor at this week's Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the first round.

She was also playing with clear difficulty in the deciding set in the match with Zhu owing to a lower back issue that has affected her at times this year.

These outcomes followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 after a long gap since her previous ranking, ended with three successive defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points before losing to Pegula in the third round in Beijing last month.

She secured 28 victories this year and advanced to the semis in the Washington tournament, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March.

As Britain's top player made the last eight of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament prior to a loss in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.

The original arrangement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but they will keep working together, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year.

She mentioned that a three-day test period with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati during August.

Roig joined her in the New York tournament, where she reached the third round prior to losing to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
